A Davit Arm System is a fall protection suspension system used in confined spaces that are hard to reach and in rescue applications. Davit is a crane-like device suitable for situations where it is necessary to support a suspended load.

Applications of Davit Arm Systems

Davit Arm Systems are commonly used in the construction industry, for example when underground access is needed, for supporting workers over the edge of the building, or for lowering and lifting loads and materials.

A davit arm provides a fixed anchor point that helps workers with entering, escaping, and working in a confined space. By adding a winch or retractable lanyard to the Davit Arm System, the worker can be easily lowered down to perform his job, and then pulled up upon the competition of the work.

Davit arms are used in critical applications where it is important to keep the worker safe. Necessarily, the davit system must be carefully inspected before every use. Otherwise, there is a risk of an injury not just to the worker hanging on the cantilever arm, but also to the personnel working below.
